We met another interesting couple, Sig and Phyllis, from San Francisco. Sig grew up in the Galapagos islands. His father went there in 1928 and he and his wife scratched a living on the islands for many years, as one of very few inhabitants. Sig left there as a 17 year old and made his way to America. They are on the sailboat Duck Tape and are anchored out in the bay.
We were invited aboard Silas Crosby who is preparing for her run to the Galapagos Islands, Easter Islands and Chile. They plan to leave on Tuesday. Meredith made wonderful Mexican appetizers and we enjoyed beer and good company. We were joined by Nina from Byka, a Norwegian boat that we had met briefly at the boat dock in San Diego. They have travelled all over Europe, Canada, America and even spent a winter tending a bush camp in Northern Alberta. They have been featured on the Discovery Channel in Canada. Have a look at their website at bikasailing.blogspot.com.
Today we are invited for Sunday dinner at Pat and Carol's. They are boat sitting Talion and are seasoned sailors from Sacramento. And, tomorrow we look forward to the arrival of Kevin and Michelle for a few days of Mexican sunshine.
